At Giller Pianos we restore pianos from late nineteenth century iron frame grand and upright pianos to modern post war instruments. We have many years experience, and specialise in the restoration of the finest makes in the world including Bechstein, Bluthner and Steinway.

Rescue

Andrew has often viewed quality pianos which clients have thought are at the end of their life due to known structural defects such as tuning pin block, or cast iron frame failure. Fortunately through the versatility and experience of the workshop these faults are often readily restorable, returning precious heirloom pieces to fine pianos for future generations to play.

Conservation

English and German pianos of the turn of the twentieth century are a passion. That era might be described as a 'golden age' of piano building, the like of which will not be seen again. The period produced instruments with a distinctive quality of tone and saw many fascinating examples of decorative casework, notably in rosewood. We go to great lengths to restore these instruments to their original beauty.

Assessment

All unrestored pianos are carefully assessed prior to restoration to ensure a project is going to prove worthwhile and an instrument can be returned to its highest musical quality and polished appearance for another generation.
